Kalamazoo Case Study
Metropolis Entertainment supplied a complete 60 seat 3D / 4D effects theatre, including a 10 minute 3D animated film in full high definition resolution for which it has won a number of awards. It also provided a Morphis 20 seat capsule simulator complete with a 3D animated experience of a journey to the international space station.
Bob Ellis, director of the museum said:
"We wanted to go beyond 3D. We were hearing comments like it can't be done or you can't afford it if it could be done and of course cost is always a big issue. We got to know some of the Metropolis people through the big IAAPA conference in Florida but we'd never spoke to Metropolis about this. Its big, it's you know, it's more than a 4D, this is an effects theatre. We travelled round the country looking at different proposals but Metropolis got their act together and they've actually pulled off now what we believe is now one of the most powerful stories and presentations in the nation and maybe the world today."
